This patch is to be installed after RoofWright 6.7.1 has been installed to improve reliability and fix a number of issues reported to us since the release. This update is not suitable for versions of RoofWright earlier than 6.7.1.385 or Trial editions.

Release Notes

This new version has been made available as a patch for the current live release of RoofWright. It contains improvements and fixes for issues as a result of feedback from our customers.

Changes included in this version:

Basework and Survey Diagrams

  • Doorway cross corners now have internally-dimensioned lines on internal brickwork views
  • Preference added to allow cross-corners on basework diagrams to have arrow heads
  • House wall “hatching” on schematic and basework views now black instead of maroon to make it clearer on printouts
  • Unnecessary cross-corners along a wall have now been removed
  • Internal and external survey diagrams now correct when used with an externaly sized design

Pricing and Ancillaries

  • Pricing no longer occasionally claims to have failed, even though a valid price is produced
  • "Show ancillary price incl VAT" option no longer continuously deducts for VAT after each edit

Roofs

  • Lean-to designs using firings no longer raise errors when printed

General

  • Removing a background photo from 3D for a saved job no longer re-appears when the job is opened again
  • Option to choose a background photo in Order Information now works as expected
  • If a “warning” colour is chosen to be shown behind a design when frame or roof problems exist, the colour is now correctly displayed
  • Fixes for a number of minor printing issues

Below are a list of issues resolved and new features included in Update 1 and 2. Update 3 includes all features/fixed from previous updates, so these are also available in Update 3:

Printing and 3D

  • Improved reliability of printing

Conservatory Designs

  • Flat-fronted T-shape designs no longer have missing roof sheets in some situations
  • Improvements to DXF export. Unwanted dimensions are no longer exported to the DXF
  • Use your mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out of your 3D design
  • New option to open or close all windows and doors all at once
  • Custom colours can now be applied to all solid infill panels used in a design
  • Cresting colour is now changed when setting all external colours at once

General

  • Improved appearance of hints and toolbars under Windows Vista
  • Improved error handling to help identify problems more quickly

Printing and 3D

  • The information shown in the footer section of Standard printouts can now be specified in System Preferences (as you previously could in v6.6). If these were already set-up in a previous version of RoofWright, they will now be used
  • Dual 3D standard printout now shows the same external/internal pair of views as in v6.6
  • Improved window frame diagrams on Frame Order reports
  • Improved 3D support (for on-screen and printouts) for Intel graphics cards (particularly laptops)

Conservatory Designs

  • Adding box gutters (partial and cut-outs) to the back wall of certain designs no longer corrupts the roof
  • Internal and external volume calculations have been improved to produce more accurate results for complex designs
  • Rafters are now successfully created on the corners of box gutter joints
  • Roof panels split with muntins and roof vents now provide correct roof glazing in complex designs
  • Pricing roof sheets as “by enclosing area” now more reliable when a muntin has been used to split the sheet
  • Improved 3 and 5-way tie-bar handling for complex, bespoke roof designs
  • Lean-to ends now display brickwork correctly in 3D when bricked-up
  • New field is available for a job: “End User Delivery Date”

Rapidity Integration

  • Various changes are included which improve the overall stability and reliability of the integration with Rapidity
  • More information regarding the job is now passed between RoofWright and Rapidity, making the link more seamless than ever

Note: Some users experience issues displaying the high quality photo-realistic 3D graphics within RoofWright. In almost all cases, obtaining and installing the latest video card drivers from the manufacturer solves these issues. If you experience such problems, please refer to the manufacturer of your laptop, PC or video card to obtain these drivers. Even if your computer or video card is very new, it is UNLIKELY to be supplied with the latest drivers so it is still recommended that you obtain them.
