Important Notes

It is highly recommended that anyone who has purchased the Window Module should install this update. It unlocks a number of features which were mistakingly unavailable in the original 6.8 version.

Release Notes

This new version has been made available as a patch for the current live release of RoofWright. It contains improvements and fixes for issues as a result of feedback from our customers.

A summary of changes included in this version are below. A full list of changes is available here:

Graphics Improvements (3D and 2D)

• Improved stability in certain problematic situation
• "Save Image As" and "Copy Image" options now create images at the requested size and resolution
• Improvements to 2D diagrams  

Window and Door Design

• Improved stability in the wall and window designer
• Improved support for french door style, and multi-pane doors
• Midrails with glass or infills below can now be set up easily on doors
• Missing "markers" are now shown in the wall and window designer to help identify different pane kinds

Standard and Bespoke Designs

• Standard design templates changed to allow better keyboard-only use
• Standard Victorian/Edwardian template can now be used to create vertically-orientated double edwardians
• Better support for loading existing, complex designs created in earlier versions of RoofWright

Reports and Print Designer Express

• ANY user running Bronze or above can now set up colour and text styles for use with Print Designer Express-based print-outs
• Improved support for printing on different sizes of paper
• Print Designer Express now more resilient in certain cases, and now uses colour schemes and text styles properly
• Changing the details of a data block on a Print Designer Express print-out no longer causes errors
• Improved appearance and position of dimensions on some 2D CAD print-outs
• Improved printing speed and reliability

Roof Pricing and Features

• Improved stability in specific cases when adding rafters, using snap zones, adding cut-outs and pricing certain situations
• Pricing firrings in certain cases no longer raises errors
• Gable support beams are now priced properly regardless of how you enable them

Window Module and Frames Only Jobs

• Users who purchased the Window Module now have access to set up window profiles, edit print-outs, window options, window and door styles, and more
• Frame editor now retains all change made with it, including the glazing in different panels, primary/secondary doors and more
• Frames only jobs can now have multi-segment sliding/folding doors (including the ability to set the number of segments), and now allows for french doors to have midrails with base infills

Window and Coupler Pricing

• Pricing of dummy sashes now correctly prices based on the preferences chosen
• Pricing of frames by style now respects all available options for how different pane kinds are treated
• Pricing of couplers now respects coupler discount options used
• Support for different internal and external window cills, and internal and external door cills added
• Different door and window cills can now be correctly priced
• Pricing of custom colours now improved, and respects uplift values and foil status
• Pricing of midrails now supports fixed + per-metre

Conservatory Systems

• Choosing which newly found systems you want to use is now simpler
• After making any changes, only the systems that have been changed are saved back, speeding the process up massively
• Each conservatory system is now stored as a seperate file, so specific systems can be copied between users without affecting all other conservatory systems on their computer

Ancillaries

• Notes button is now available when the ancillary file is locked
• "Units" quantity now defaults to 1 (as it did in RW 6.7) rather than 0 when an item is set to be priced as a user-specified multiple

Note: Some users experience issues displaying the high quality photo-realistic 3D graphics within RoofWright. In almost all cases, obtaining and installing the latest video card drivers from the manufacturer solves these issues. If you experience such problems, please refer to the manufacturer of your laptop, PC or video card to obtain these drivers. Even if your computer or video card is very new, it is UNLIKELY to be supplied with the latest drivers so it is still recommended that you obtain them.
